BENEFITS
During summer it bears squat, pear-shaped, green skinned fruit with a dark-red very rich sweet flesh. Figs are great for making jams, drying, baked in pies and slices or eaten fresh.
GROWING CONDITIONS
Season: Spring to Autumn / Perennial
Soil: Rich and well draining
Watering: Water occasionally, can handle some dry periods
Position: Full sun. Requires watering in full sun until established
Fertilizing: Compost, Manure, Liquid feed
Use: Harvest fruits to eat fresh, and use in cooking or preserves
Growing tips: Prune after harvesting. Will sucker readily and sprawl, can be pruned to a tree form
Companion Plants: Lavender, Nasturtium, Creeping Thyme
