Growing Tips

Calamus prefers growing in water up to a few inches deep, making it an excellent choice for the shallow edges of a pond. Ideally, the water should cover the base of the Calamus plants, but they can tolerate having their roots partially submerged or at the water's edge. Calamus can grow vigorously. Regularly thin the plants to maintain a desired population density. Prune the yellowing or dead leaves to encourage healthy growth. Will go dormant over winter.

Companion Plants

Sweet Flag Calamus thrives alongside other pond plants like Azolla, Brahmi, Gotu Kola & Camelon Plant
